• Stimulates bone marrow production; erythropoesis, leukopoesis, thrombopoiesis
• Hypercoagulant – increases blood clotting
Tamarix gallica (Tamarisk) young shoots
Therapeutic actions:
• Tamarix gallica is a bone marrow stimulant; it stimulates erythropoiesis, leucopoiesis, and thrombopoiesis.
• Tamarisk young shoots that activate the metabolism of iron since it stimulates the formation of red blood cells.
• Acts as a total hypercoagulant - increases blood clotting, recommended in hypocoagulation.
• Tamarisk activates iron and cholesterol metabolites, correcting defects in the regeneration of thrombin.
Clinical indications:
• Blood: anemias of many types (be sure of the etiology). Hypochromic anemia (lack of iron), erythropenia (thrombocytopenia or medullary).
Thrombocytopenia: secondary to viral infections (mononucleosis) / secondary to chemo treatments.
ITP - Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpurea, acquired thrombocytopenia secondary to viral infections (herpes, mumps, measles, mono).
Hand-Schuller Christian disease (chronic diffuse histocytosis). Eosinophilic granuloma (Ficus carica).
Thalassemia, more effective for minor than for major.
• Bleeding conditions: Uterine fibroids with hemorrhaging, menorrhagia, rectal bleeding, epistaxis.
• Immune: Mononucleosis (used with antivirals, works with the spleen).
Traditional use
• Circulatory system: hypochromic anemia, infectious mononucleosis, hypo-platelet erythropenia, medullary erythropenia, activates metabolism of iron, stimulates formation of red blood cells, overall hypercoagulant, hypocoagulation, chronic diffuse histiocytosis, gained thrombopenia.
Consider in combination with:
• Corylus avellana, hypochronic anemia
• Ribes nigrum, mononucleosis
• Acer campestre, antiviral with cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)
• Ficus carica, improves digestion and assimilation
• Rosmarinus officinalis, Secale cereale, promotes liver regeneration
• Ribes nigrum, Carpinus betulus, epistaxis
• Aesculus hippocastanum, rectal bleeding
• Juniperis communis, for liver drainage support
• Ficus carica, eosinophilia granuloma (elevated eosinophils )
0.05 ml (extract 1:20 …. 2.5 mg )
Adults and children > 12 years
• Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended.
• To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period.
• The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course.
• One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
• Contraindications:
• Angina
• Arteriosclerosis/atherosclerosis
• Increase in iron levels
• Use of anticoagulants (hypercoagulant effect)
• Leukemia
• Polycytemia vera
• Thrombocytosis
• All forms of hypercoagulation disorders
