Description
Therapeutic actions: • Syringa vulgaris has cardiovascular properties. It provides heart drainage and combats coronary spasms. • Vascular antispasmodic (coronary), in lower limb arteritis, in pectoral angina and coronary syndromes or in association with adaptable posologies. • Increases coronary artery circulation by producing vasodilatation (coronary vasodilator, inotrope +), irrigates the heart muscle. • Use in association with other gemmotherapeutics. Use in conjunction with a medical follow-up in severe coronary heart disease.
Clinical indications: • Cardiovascular: Angina, arteriosclerosis (part of a protocol), pain, tightness in the heart or chest area. Anxiety that tightens the chest area, coronary heart disease, lower limb arteritis, arteriosclerosis. Hypertension.
Consider in combination with: • Crataegus oxyacantha, for CV support, to increase flow and function of the myocardium • Alnus glutinosa, post MI • Tilia tomentosa, to relax the nervous system overall • Zea mays, to accelerate healing of the myocardium post infarct • Olea europaea, Acer campestre, Cercis siliquastrum, Prunus amygdalus, for arteriosclerosis

Dose
Adults and children > 12 years • Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended. • To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period. • The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course. • One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
Potential side effects/Safety
Clinical experience: • Prescribe with caution to elderly patients (the senile myocardium may have difficulty adapting to the sudden increase in cardiac irrigation). • Start with low doses of 1-2 drops, 2 times daily and gradually increase. • Use Lilac conjointly to medical supervision for severe cases of coronary disease.
