Sorbus domestica (Service-tree) buds
Therapeutic actions:
• The eatable fruits (service- or sorb-apple) are used for making various drinks. The glycerine macerate has a very pleasant flavour, close to bitter almond or " Amaretto " liquor.
• Sorbus domestica is a remarkable venous detoxifier, used for pathologies caused by hyperviscosity of the blood and slow circulation.
• Tones the venous wall, major regulator of the venous circulation.
• Moves congestion.
• Decreases serum viscosity.
Clinical indications:
• ENT: Buzzing in ears, maybe tinnitus but the literature varies (rebuilds ciliary hair and ear drums).
• Tympanic sclerosis (in association), sudden deafness (vascular spasm with tinnitus), vertigo and feeling of fullness of the ear (in association). It is ideal to combat problems of ringing ears (tinnitus), even of deafness.
• Vascular (venous): Overall venous sluggishness, phlebitis/ thrombophlebitis, varicose veins & hemorrhoids, heaviness in the legs (precursor to thrombic disorders), venous hypertension, varicosity, para-phlebitis, varicose ulcers, venous plethora.
• Arterial: Raynaud’s syndrome, menopausal circulation issues with decreased pulse pressure and increased diastolic pressure.
• Lymphatic: Conditions that require lymph drainage.
• Skin: Cellulite.
• Nervous: Brain pathologies, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s (to drain toxins and heavy metals from the brain), congestive headaches.
• Other: Acroparesthesia (weird feeling in the extremities), menopause.
Consider in combination with:
• Castanea vesca, lower leg venous stasis
• Populus nigra, thrombophlebitis
• Aesculus hippocastanum, varicose veins, hemorrhoids
• Viburnum lantana, deafness due to tympanosclerosis
• Castanea vesca, Citrus limonum, varicose veins
• Aesculus hippocastanum, Castanea vesca, venous-lymph drainage, cellulite
• Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Castanea vesca, circulation issues for menopausal women
• Crataegus oxyacantha, to work heart and venous system together
• Citrus limonum, Raynaud’s syndrome
• Rosmarinus officinalis, for women on HRT or OCPs
0.05 ml (extract 1:20 …. 2.5 mg )
Adults and children > 12 years
• Depending on the patient and the problem being treated, 5-10 drops daily are recommended.
• To start with, 5 drops should be taken; this dose can be increased by one drop daily to reach a maximum of 15-20 drops daily, until the required and stable result is acquired. The dosage is then maintained for the remainder of the treatment period.
• The length of the treatment depends on the health problem and the gemmotherapy remedy used. Normally it is recommended that the treatment be continued for three (3) months. The treatment should last for a minimum of three weeks and can be repeated several times, allowing for example a treatment-free week between each course.
• One or two remedies, the most applicable, can be combined; more are not usually necessary. However, the complexes have the advantage of combining several extracts in one formula, thus facilitating the treatment. A complex may, if considered necessary, be combined with another complex or individual bud extract.
