Strict raw material assays at body temperature are used to verify the quality of the enzymes used in Digezyme to ensure the maximum possible activity. These enzymes are non-animal, pharmaceutical grade and contain no mycotoxins, fungi or other contaminants.
The enzymes are blended and chosen such that they retain their activity after passing through the acid conditions of the stomach and are therefore fully active in the small intestine where most of the digestive process occurs.
Raw material assays at body temperature are an important but often overlooked factor in enzyme preparations. For example, a protease may have an activity of 60,000 units at a temperature of 250C but at 370C (body temperature), the same enzyme may only have an activity of 2,000 units, if any at all.
