Clinical and laboratory studies on the hearts of both animals and humans have shown many positive benefits of D-Ribose supplementation including improved ventricular function, enhanced recovery of energy-carrying nucleotide levels following ischemia, reduction of fibromyalgia, and an increased ability to tolerate exercise in patients with stable coronary artery disease.

Description

D-Ribose quickly restores depleted nucleotide pools, which include ATP, ADP and AMP, and improves overall heart and muscle function. D-Ribose metabolizes into 5-phophoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP) via the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (PPP). PRPP is a key intermediate in the pathways of purine nucleotide formation and in the synthesis of pyrimidine nucleotides. However, a limiting step in the PPP is the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) reaction. D-ribose supplementation is known to allow the body to bypass this limiting step and help restore depleted nucleotide pools at a faster rate. Depleted cardiac energy pools may be associated with increased cardiac stress, reduced blood flow to the periphery of the body, fatigue and decreased exercise tolerance.

1 teaspoon one or twice daily, or as directed by your health care practitioner.
