Description

Blue flag is well known for its lymphatic cleansing ability as well as stimulating liver and gallbladder function. It is a blood purifier, alterative, diuretic, cathartic, hepatic, vermifuge, mild laxative and cholagogue. It has been used for enlarged thyroid and other glandular affections, goiter, swollen glands, skin conditions, gastric distress, headache/migraine, constipation and hepatitis.

Dose

Maximum 600 mg per day. Overuse may cause nausea, upset stomach and vomiting.

Potential side effects/Safety

Avoid in pregnancy, lactation and hyperthyroid conditions. Generally well tolerated. Drug interactions may exist.
