Indications

• Helps increase total sleep time in people experiencing sleep restriction or altered sleep schedule (e.g., shift work or jet lag)

Ingredients

Each tablet contains:
Melatonin (non-animal source) : 5 mg

Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, natural flavour, croscarmellose sodium, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Description

Many adults experience frequent or occasional sleep disturbances, including difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early. Melatonin is the most popular natural sleep aid because it is non-habit-forming and effective.

Melatonin is the body’s own natural sleep hormone, produced in the brain’s pineal gland each evening when darkness falls. It is part of the “biological clock” that produces the circadian rhythm and prepares the body for sleep. But the natural rhythm of this clock can be disrupted, resulting in difficulty sleeping.

Research shows that taking a melatonin supplement 30–90 minutes before bedtime helps reset the body’s sleep-wake cycle, an aspect of the circadian rhythm. Melatonin helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep (sleep onset latency aspect of sleep quality) in people who fall asleep slowly. It also helps increase the total sleep time (aspect of sleep quality) in people experiencing sleep restriction or altered sleep schedule (e.g., shift work or jet lag).

Dose

Recommended adult dose: All uses except abdominal pain: Take as needed; allow to dissolve under the tongue 1–2 tablets once daily, 10 to 30 minutes before bedtime, or se as directed by health care practitioner. < br >
Abdominal pain: At bedtime only; allow to dissolve under the tongue 1–2 tablets once daily, or use as directed by a health care practitioner. Use for a minimum of 2 weeks to see beneficial effects.
