Description

As a ferrous salt, iron fumarate is the iron salt of fumaric acid. It has an elemental iron content of approximately 30%. This form of iron has been shown to elicit fewer side effects compared to other forms of inorganic iron supplements. Iron fumarate is a cost-effective choice for those requiring a general iron source.

Potential side effects/Safety

Keep iron-containing supplements out of reach of young children. Caution with hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, polycythemia, iron-loading anemias, and B12 or folate masked anemias. Generally well tolerated.
